"Quantum" and "past lives," are they true or just nonsense?

There has been more than one case where individuals have provided feedback after undergoing hypnosis stating, "Your hypnosis technique is really good and has been helpful to me. However, the use of terms like "quantum" and "past lives" can easily make people think you're a "scammer" or "charlatan", causing many to have a sense of resistance and unwillingness to continue engaging or the determination to try it out.

Personally, I completely understand this phenomenon. In fact, I agree that the founder of this technique decided to use the term "quantum" not only for logical reasons but also with a slight purpose of "riding the wave" of popularity. In the entire process of hypnosis, "quantum" or "quantum technology" is not actually used, and it is more of a borrowed concept. The same goes for "past lives", which is more of a conceptual reference for ease of communication rather than a strictly scientific and rigorous definition.

Because the signal-to-noise ratio of text-based communication is very low, there are very limited things in this world that can be "scientifically rigorous and universal" in the description. And when the subject matter involves personal experience, it is an impossible task to perfectly convey. Imagine how you would tell someone who has never tasted durian what it tastes like. You will find that no matter how eloquent you are, you cannot make the other person feel what you feel when you eat durian. You can only use something that the other person may have a concept of to refer to what you want to express. You may find it difficult to avoid using something disgusting to help describe the distinctive smell of durian, but in reality, what you want to express and the concept you borrow may be very different. However, to maintain communication effectiveness, this is the closest expression you can find. But because you are likely to use something quite disgusting as a reference, the description itself may make someone who has never eaten durian step back and avoid it forever. I would call this phenomenon "touching the cognitive firewall of the other party."

Just like how I used the concepts of "firewall" and "signal-to-noise ratio" familiar to programmers to express a certain phenomenon, although this expression is also quite unrigorous and unscientific, it can instantly make people understand what I want to say without me having to come up with examples. And because words like "signal-to-noise ratio" and "firewall" do not bring any negative associations, they do not trigger the "cognitive firewall" of others, making it easy to reach a consensus. The use of terms like "quantum" and "past lives" also serves this purpose - they are indeed efficient terms to explain the effects and experiences of a healing method to someone who has never experienced it. However, these terms can also create many negative associations, making it easy to touch someone's cognitive firewall during the process.

So what can we do? Actually, there's not much we can do. It's just like how you have to use something unpleasant to describe the distinctive smell of durian. In order to convey difficult-to-express information as quickly and accurately as possible, we have to use terms that are easily borrowed and may trigger cognitive firewalls. As for those who are resistant to trying it out due to their cognitive firewall, I can only say that life is just a series of experiences. Life with experience of eating durian is one kind of experience, and life without experience of eating durian is another kind of experience. Life with the experience of undergoing hypnosis is one kind of experience, and life without the experience of undergoing hypnosis is another kind of experience. Life with an unbreakable cognitive barrier is one kind of experience, and life with constantly expanding cognitive abilities is still another kind of experience.

I am only responsible for providing an explanation, whether or not someone wants to experience it is up to them. Ultimately, there is no right or wrong, good or bad.

So why is it called quantum hypnosis? The founder of quantum hypnosis, Dolores Cannon, explained that this method is far beyond the scope of regression hypnosis. It can help the individual establish a connection with the "subconscious" (not a psychological concept, but can be understood as the "higher self" or "superconsciousness") that transcends dimensions. This can lead to significant healing and profound transformation, similar to the "quantum leap" of subatomic particles in quantum states. Quantum leap refers to the process where subatomic particles jump from one state (energy level) to another. Cannon's idea is that the transformation brought about by hypnosis is also "leap-like", as the individual undergoes a jump from one state to another before and after hypnosis. Therefore, this type of hypnosis is called quantum hypnosis.

And what Dorolys Canan said was actually observed in my practice. Here I would like to introduce a new concept - the Hawkins Scale of Consciousness. This is a landmark commonly used in the spiritual field, where people can use this scale to self-check their own spiritual energy status. Under normal circumstances, unless there is a major external event that affects one's life, a person's spiritual energy status is usually fluctuating between one or two levels up and down. However, in my practical experience, I found that a hypnosis session can bring a "leap" in energy levels to the individual. Even in cases where there was no external change in the environment, just one hypnosis session was able to jump an individual's spiritual energy level from 30 to 200, resulting in a significant change in their spiritual outlook. Even some long-standing stubborn illnesses have been miraculously self-healed, negative views towards certain people, things or events have disappeared in an instant, and so on.

In addition, I also found in my hypnosis practice that individuals can experience a completely different life than their own while in a hypnotic state. This experience is not just a sensory experience like watching a movie in a cinema, but a sensory experience that feels like a "first-hand experience" in terms of visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and gustatory perceptions. Regarding this issue, I am very much looking forward to discussing it with friends who study brain and neuroscience. I am very interested in why the brains of my individual cases bring such rich and seemingly real experiences after being hypnotized. I also hope to have more scientific and rigorous explanations for these phenomena. Furthermore, in this state, sometimes the hypnotized individual may come into contact with some information that they would not be able to access otherwise or say things beyond their cognition. For example, during a hypnosis session, while lying in a hotel in Chengdu, when the hypnotist instructed me to check on my grandmother in Guangzhou, I did obtain some information that I could not have known at that time. For instance, I accurately described what my grandmother was doing and discovered an unusual condition caused by heat on her neck. (These data are all recorded and available to check through audio, video, and WeChat chat records).

And in my experience, what Dolores Kanngarn said is indeed true. Here, I introduce a new concept - the Hawkins Scale of Energy Levels. This is a common landmark in the field of mind-body-spirit, and people can use this chart to self-check their own spiritual energy state. Under normal circumstances, unless there is a significant external event in one's life, a person's spiritual energy state is generally fluctuating between one to two levels up or down. However, in my practical experience, a hypnosis session can bring about an "energy leap" for the client. There have even been cases where a person's spiritual energy level was able to leap from 30 to 200, resulting in a significant change in the person's overall spiritual appearance, even though nothing had changed in their external environment. Some people's long-standing illnesses have been miraculously self-healed, and negative perceptions of certain people, things, and objects have disappeared in an instant, and so on.

In addition, I have found in my practice of hypnosis that clients can experience a completely different life from their own while in a hypnotic state. This experience is not like the audiovisual experience of watching a movie in a theater, but a sensory experience that is felt as if they are actually experiencing it firsthand. Regarding this issue, I am very interested in discussing it with friends who study the brain and neuroscience. I am very curious as to why my clients' brains are able to provide them with such rich and realistic experiences after being hypnotized. I also hope to have more scientific and rigorous explanations for these phenomena. And in this state, sometimes the hypnotized person will come into contact with information that they would not normally have access to or say things that are beyond their cognition. For example, during one of my hypnosis sessions, while lying in a hotel room in Chengdu, the hypnotherapist instructed me to see the status of my grandmother in Guangzhou, and I did find out some information that I could not have known at the time, such as accurately stating what my grandmother was doing and discovering an abnormal state in her neck due to the heat. (These materials are recorded on audio, video, and WeChat chat records).

And I have many more examples like this. This state also reminds me of quantum entanglement.

So in my opinion, there is some truth to the use of the concept of "quantum", but only to a certain extent. It cannot be used any more than that.

As for the concept of "past lives", due to the issue of length and theme, I will elaborate on it in another article.
